Present political situation in Ukraine is a very popular topic among people nowadays. We hear about Ukrainian political system not so much, but we thoroughly try to blame politics of Ukraine and Ukrainian politicians for everything, including political situation all over the world. But we should know the internal structure of their political parties, issues and history of Ukrainian policy in summary.

Political system in Ukraine

Politics of Ukraine is a complex system. Ukraine is a unitary parliamentary-presidential republic. The government consists of the Cabinet of Ministers; Supreme legislative body is ruled by the Verkhovna Rada. State power is separated into three independent from each other branches: legislative, judicial and executive.

Ukrainian political parties

There are several main parties in Ukraine today:

  • Radical Party;
  • Ukrainian Republican Party;
  • Petro Poroshenko Bloc;
  • People’s Movement of Ukraine;
  • The Self Reliance and so on.

All these political parties are separated into: pro-Western (including Petro Poroshenko Bloc) pro-European (The National Front of Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk).

Ukrainian politicians

We hear their names in the topic of politics of Ukraine every day, but, sometimes, we do not know who they are and what they do. The most famous Ukrainian politicians are:

  • Yulia Tymoshenko – one of the most popular woman of Ukraine, the People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the eighth convocation;
  • Arseniy Yatsenyuk – the Prime Minister of Ukraine;
  • Oleg Lyashko – one of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the eighth convocation;
  • Petro Poroshenko – the President of Ukraine;
  • Oleksandr Turchynov – Secretary of the national security Council and defense of Ukraine;
  • Dmitry Yarosh – one of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the eighth convocation.

History of Ukrainian policy

The events of Euromaidan began in November 2013 in connection with the decision of the government of Ukraine to suspend the process of preparation for signing of the Association agreement with the EU. It has caused an acute political crisis in February 2014, which led to the change power state. Since then every day we see on TV attack of the Donbass and anti-Russian policy among Ukrainian politicians and political parties. All parties and movements see the problem differently. But all agree on one thing – Peace with Russia will not be. This affects many residents of the Ukraine.

Present political situation in Ukraine

At the moment, Ukraine is in a protracted crisis. This political crisis in Ukraine entails huge debts to Russia for tons of oil, which has not been paid yet. It is clear that the force behind all these schemes are the Americans in order to make certain: Yushenko becomes president in the nearest future. Yushenko had also made a few enemies who could began this arranged compromise. He was the head of the Bank and this state was not agreed by many people. There are a lot of talks about political timeline in Ukraine, but when it will be finished – we have no idea.
